On account of the Bonalu Festival on 10 August 2026, the Museum booking office will close for ticket sales at 3:15 pm, and the Museum will close to the public at 4:00 pm.

Good News – Starting 1 December 2025, the museum will stay open until 6:00 PM for visitors.

In view of International Museum Day on 18th May 2026, the Museum will remain open till 8:00 PM with free entry to all visitors throughout the day.

Salar Jung Museum will close at 3:00 PM on 14.06.2026 for 75 Years & Birth Anniversary of Salar Jung III. Booking counters close at 2:15 PM.

Currently, the Museum houses 40 galleries across three blocks: the Central Block (27 galleries), the Western Block (7 galleries), and the Eastern Block (6 galleries), with nearly 16,000 objects on display.

The Indian collections feature items from states including Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, and Jammu & Kashmir, as well as cultural centres such as Kangra, Basholi, Jaipur, Udaipur, Mewar, Hyderabad, Golconda, Bijapur, Kurnool, and Nirmal.
