Handles overall administration, planning, and coordination of museum activities.
Responsible for acquisition, documentation, preservation and display of the collections.
Conserves and preserves the collections and undertakes necessary research for treating objects to enhance their life.
Manages the museum's priceless manuscripts collections and rare-book library, archives and reference collections.

Ensures the safety and security of visitors, staff and museum property. Currently the Security of the Museum is managed by the CISF (Central Industrial Security Forces).
Runs the museum shop and promotes authentic museum merchandise.
Provides food and refreshment facilities for visitors. Currently it is managed by the Telangana Tourism Department.
