The Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad, an Institution of National Importance, invites applications from eligible candidates for temporary engagement under its Young Museum Professional programme in the Display Department.

1. Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Multimedia, Animation, Digital Media or a related discipline from a recognised university or institution.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Auto-CAD, Ravit, Sketchup and relevant architectural software.
- Demonstrated proficiency in graphic-design software, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign, and knowledge of video-editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to design print and digital communication materials, with a sound understanding of typography, colour theory, layout design and visual identity.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Hindi.
- Submission of a portfolio in PDF format or through an online link demonstrating relevant design work.
2. Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of social media content creation and digital communication.
- Experience in photography and videography.
- Working knowledge of UI/UX design, motion graphics or animation.
- Familiarity with museums, heritage, art or cultural-sector projects.
- Knowledge of Telugu.
- Experience with AI-assisted design tools and Canva.
3. Roles and Responsibilities
- Design museum labels, gallery graphics, interpretive panels, signage and visitor-information materials.
- Assist in developing exhibition layouts, visual concepts and graphic elements for permanent galleries and temporary exhibitions.
- Design invitations, posters, brochures, banners and publicity materials for Museum programmes and events.
- Develop digital assets for the Museum website, social media, educational programmes and public outreach.
- Assist in photography, videography and documentation of Museum events and exhibitions, as required.
- Maintain consistency in the Museum’s visual identity across print and digital communication.
- Coordinate with curators, educators, exhibition teams and other relevant personnel on design projects.
- Undertake other related assignments entrusted by the competent authority.
4. General Terms and Conditions
- Age: Not more than 35 years as on the last date of receipt of applications.
- Engagement: Fixed period of one year, subject to the terms approved by the Museum.
- Stipend: Consolidated stipend of ₹25,000/- per month, subject to submission of a monthly progress report and approval by the concerned curator.
- Attendance and completion: A certificate of completion will be issued only upon satisfactory completion of assigned tasks, minimum 75% attendance and submission of a final report/presentation.
- Logistics: No TA/DA, boarding or accommodation will be provided. The candidate must bring their own laptop.
- Intellectual property: Work and materials created during the engagement shall remain the intellectual property of the Salar Jung Museum, subject to applicable rules and terms of engagement.
